Design thesis

Eclipse is a dark, single-accent finance console built on a near-black ink surface stack (base #08080A → surface #0D0E11 → raised #15161A) so that data, not chrome, carries the visual weight. One disciplined indigo accent (#6E7BFF) marks the primary series, active nav, focus rings and the command pill; everything structural is rendered in graded greys and a 6% hairline so the eye reads hierarchy by luminance, not by color. Semantic green/amber/red appear only as invoice status and KPI deltas — never as decoration. Numerics are set in JetBrains Mono with tabular figures so columns of currency align to the pixel; display and body use the geometric-humanist Space Grotesk / Schibsted Grotesk pair (no Inter/Roboto/Arial). The result is a quiet, keyboard-first console — icon rail, ⌘K search, footer command bar — that reads like Linear × Vercel and suits a dense multi-tenant accounting cockpit where a CEO scans revenue, cash and overdue invoices at a glance.

Design thesis

Command treats a finance console like an operator's cockpit: a dominant near-black ink field (#0B0A0C → #141215 surfaces) carries one disciplined warm accent (coral #FF5C7A → amber #FF9A5C) used only for brand, focus, and the primary data series — never spread as decoration. Information density is high but legible because hierarchy is carried by type weight and a calm 16px spacing rhythm, not by color: secondary metadata is greyscale, semantic green/amber/red appear ONLY on status pills and directional deltas (status, never ornament). Numerics ride IBM Plex Mono with tabular-nums so columns optically align; everything else is Schibsted Grotesk — a humanist grotesque that reads premium and is explicitly not Inter/Roboto/Arial. The ⌘K bar and floating command palette make the keyboard-first promise legible at a glance. It suits a dense console because the eye can scan dozens of figures without color noise, yet a single glance still resolves "is this paid / overdue / up / down."

Design thesis

Ledger treats a finance console the way a physical ledger treats a page: a calm near-black ink field, hairline rules, and numbers that line up to the cent. The whole surface is dominated by one ink ladder (base #0A0E14 → surface #101620 → raised #18202C) and exactly ONE living accent — a money green (#34D8A4) reused as the brand mark, the primary chart series, active-nav, and the focus signal — so the eye always knows where value is. Space Grotesk carries display and body (geometric, characterful, anti-Inter); every figure switches to IBM Plex Mono with tabular-nums so columns and KPIs align optically. Semantic color is rationed to status only: green=paid/up, amber=pending, rose=overdue. Elevation is expressed through one-pixel borders and a single faint top-right accent bloom, never drop-shadow soup. The result reads like Stripe × Vercel: dense, legible, and quiet under pressure — exactly what a holding-company operator wants when scanning revenue, cash, and overdue invoices at a glance.

Director's pick: ledger — Ledger is the right default for the DigiConta finance console on all four criteria, and uniquely so because it is the only one that respects what the product already has. (1) Legibility of dense numbers: it matches Eclipse's mono-tabular discipline (IBM Plex Mono, hairline rules, figures aligned to the cent, neutral donut greys) — full parity on the core requirement, ahead of Command's warm-tinted, more-fatiguing ground. (2) Trust/authority: a near-black blue-steel ink ladder with one 'where the value is' green accent is the bank-grade, ledger-page register an accounting + family-office product must project; warm coral (Command) reads consumer/alert and undercuts authority. (3) Longevity vs trend: it EVOLVES rather than discards DigiConta's JC-approved brand equity — emerald #10B981 → money-green #34D8A4 preserves the explicit 'green = money/positive' semantic already in the live tokens (design-tokens.css), so it is a continuation of an approved identity rather than a from-scratch rebrand that throws that equity away (Eclipse's indigo and Command's coral both do). That continuity also keeps it closest to the existing teal/emerald hero gradient, lowering migration and review risk. (4) Distinctiveness/anti-slop: Eclipse's indigo is the most template-like 'AI-dark-dashboard' accent (the exact generic-trust problem the 2026-05-19 anti-slop refresh targeted); Ledger's ownable money-green clears that bar while staying conservative. The one trade-off — green stretches less neutrally to non-finance internal tools than Eclipse's indigo — is fully addressable: keep Ledger's neutral cool-ink CHASSIS as the shared shell and re-tokenize the accent per brand (green for digiconta, a neutral/indigo for Infra/Workforce). That gives the best of both: Ledger as the digiconta-brand default, its ink ladder as the cross-fleet base. Note for the brief: all three are dark-only and discard the current light-primary surface + the approved teal #0891B2 / emerald #10B981 palette and IBM Plex Sans body — adopting any of them is a brand re-decision that, per docs/design/brand-refresh/digiconta.md, requires JC's explicit per-brand sign-off, and Ledger is the only one that can be framed as an evolution of that approved decision rather than a reset.
